WEBTV BACKGROUND MUSIC-FOUND A FEW

Well believe it or not, I found about 5 background music midis from the webtv (which I still have hooked up!!).

I got the Ave Maria one. I think this is it but it just dont quite sound right. I haven't used webtv since 2004 so maybe my ear is a bit off.

I converted the sounds to mp3.

I've asked and asked for anyone to email any they find to me.  No one here is willing to, for some reason.  They'll tell you they're going to send them 100x over, but they don't.  I'd love to hear them.

Give me your email address and I'll send the 5 I have to you.

I also contacted webtv (msntv) and they said they have no way of getting them
off of rom to sell or anything.

They are all mp3 so you can listen to them anywhere.

do you want me to send them as a zip file or just send them as attachments in email?

Hi Ya'll. Here's a link to direct you to all the web tv songs that were hacked from the rom/drive. Enjoy and big hugs! :) Right click the all-midis and all-music links and hit 'save as' and they will be downloaded to your pc, open with winrar/winzip and there you go :) It took me an hour to find this website after reading your posts, glad I could be of help.

Thanks! I think that this collection were not from the 'Classic' version of Webtv, but contains many songs from the 'Classic' version, just not all of them. My mom did not have the Classic version, but I did on the Phillips Magnavox. I wish I could find the collection from that one hmmno...I guess I should be thankful that I at least found this treasure, it is quite an impressive collection of Midi's from Webtv.

All I've ever had was the Phillips Magnovox webtv..sometimes when I turn it on and I hear that startup music with the dialtone, it's like wow, the memories...then I say...wow...how I've aged (lol).


I'm grateful to just have the music that's there. There is ONE song that I LOVE that was only on the WEBTV plus...the name of it was "carnivale"...

At this time I'll take what I can get. Now when I surf the internet on the PC, I play the webtv surf music in the background.

Remember when you had the option of sending in a check, money order to pay for it??

All,  I know I said I would deliver on the music but I ended up losing it on my hard drive... anyways, I was able to finally do a restore and have put the .zip file containing EVERYTHING (RMF files, mod files, xm files, mid files)  on my website http://www.blanchfor.com/?page_id=317

I was just looking through those midi's and noticed I have one that wasn't on there called chill_jingle.mid. 

Anyways I found it here:

Wow, nice to find these once again. Brings me right back...though I had WebTV back in 1998 they didn't have songs until 1999 (if my memory serves me correctly, it could have been 1999 then 2000).

Ahhhh...brings back memories of looking up South Park and Friends web sites and not being able to play Flash games lol.

Yes, those were much simplier, more fun days. I still got my webtv, not something you ever get rid of.

No they did have music in 98. I was #28 in the country to get it in 1996 and they got music right around the end of 96 going into 97...well at least I had the music.


I still want to get the REAL ave maria one, and they had one called "tropicale" but it was on the webtv plus and I'm still trying to find that one.

Hello.

I'm glad to find a website dedicated to the ol' WebTV.

 

What I'd like to do is upload all the WebTV songs I can find on youtube. I uploaded some of the videos in the music section of this site. Someone here mentioned that they ripped songs from the Webtv classic and turned them into mp3s? There are a few of those that I'd REALLY like to hear again. I might even fork over a few dollars for one particular song that I'm looking for that sounds like film noir music.
